Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are trudging through the last several weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are some things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should swap out standard air filters monthly. If you fail to do so, they can end up clogged, obstructing air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the true room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but verify the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your heating equipment will still not kick on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
