4 Signs it’s Time to Replace your Boiler

Should you replace your boiler? Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some signals to look for when deciding whether it’s time to purchase a new boiler. 

Age 

If your condensing boiler has annual maintenance, you can expect it to function about 15 years or longer. Cast iron boilers can last a lot longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is close to 15 years or your cast iron boiler is getting close to 50 years, it may be time to think about an upgrade. 

Bills 

If your energy bills are rising or you’re having to maintain your boiler more frequently, it could be because it’s time to buy a new, more efficient boiler. 

Discoloration 

If you discover yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be an indicator that the fuel is not burning properly and could be producing carbon monoxide. If you see these issues or have any concerns about carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning or your gas company immediately. 

Comfort 

If some of the sections in your home are too hot or too cold and you can’t seem to control them appropriately or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is no longer effective and you could need to look into upgrade options.
